The All-Time Postseason Win/Loss page (located somewhere in the GTSRchives section) has been updated for Postseason IV.

RONNIE has the most wins in Postseason play with 30, while the best win % is shared between The OC (P-III's winner), and Angry Amish (P-IV's winner).

GTSR Postseason IV Wrap Up. Season EHght Finale.

This is the end of the line for both Postseason IV, and GTSR Season EHght. After about 4-5 days worth of stalling, we've decided to post up all the results. Why the 4-5 days of stalling? Because we can. *shrug* Mrs. JiM is nicer about it, but I'm JiM, and I'm typing it, so nyah nyah nyah. Let's get on with the Wrap Ups. Whoot.

Postseason IV Leaderboard - What began as a 6 person scrum going into the Super Bowl, became a 2-way Tiebreaker From Hell as JWGator and Angry Amish were the only 2 peeps to finish P-IV @ 8-3. By only a mere 7 point difference, Angry Amish defeated JWGator in the Super Bowl Tiebreaker to win Postseason IV. Congratulations Angry Amish. You're a sinner. By that I mean the whole Amish shtick. Amish don't use computers. If they do, it should at least be braille or something. I'm not sure why that would matter. In any event, congrats again, Online Jim.

AFC NE Patriots - Mark defeated Angelico Breaker in the Super Bowl Tiebreaker. Both Mark and Breaker finished up at 6-5, but Mark zeroed out his tiebreaker and wins out.

AFC North (Bal / Pit) - Angry Amish also won this division, which shouldn't be a huge shock by now.

NFC North & NYG - Mike Gzar Joyce (7-4) defeats Nick Paglia and The OC by a game to clinch the North/NYG Championship.

AFC South & West - Matuch (7-4), much like Mike, wins out by a game, ahead of both Crunk, Jon, and Toronto's Tonto.

AFC East - Idiotguy (6-5) wins by tiebreaker over Themeaningoflifeisnot and No Talent Ass Clowns. While NTAC's 11 points remaining was solid, TMOL chimed in with only 3 points, however, Idiotguy zeroed out completely and wins the AFC East.

AFC North (Cin / Cle) - Miss Alana-Rose (7-4) wins by a game over RONNIE and GUNIT (two thirds of CAPITAL PUNISHMENT). Miss Alana-Rose officially becomes the youngest champion ever in GTSR history. Good luck on beating that record.

NFC South & West - JWGator (8-3) wins this division by a game ahead of King Krush, Kimberly, and Fletcher Wyla.

NFC East - Kmann (7-4) wins by tiebreaker over Nails. Kmann scored 9 points, while Nails had 13 points remaining. 4 point margin of difference, Kmann wins!

GTSR Season EHght - At the end of the season, it was down to 3 men, in random order : The D, The OC, and G Money Action. These 3 titans of Season EHght stomped into Postseason IV with one thing on their mind. To open up mini-kegs of whoopass amongst their Overtime Competition. With a win by GMA, it means back to back Canadian Domination. With a D victory, it would mean the first professional football related championship to hit Michigan in what, 50 years? With a win by The OC, it would prove that he has the magic Postseason touch, and would ultimately cement his status as "Postseason Nerd TO THE EXTREME!". Well, feel free to rock a mic like a vandal, cuz The OC lit up the stage, and waxed Season EHght like a candle.

The GTSR Season Ehght Champion is THE OC! Congratulations OC, as you defeated both G Money Action and The D by 1 game and had a nice "victory parade" during the Super Bowl to win GTSR Season EHght. The OC rolls into Season 9 as the Champion, while we have a new Amish Postseason Champion, and 8 division champions for Postseason V.

That's it for this season. Have a good offseason, and we'll see you in a few months. Thanks!

Final Bowl Games VIII Results

Well, my theory was right and wrong at the same time. I figured that the Heavy Mettle winner wouldn't necessarily be the Win/Loss Winner. And, to some degree I was right. In fact, up until the final 3 games, Slamdunk was rolling along in Heavy Mettle without ever really leading Win/Loss.

However, the final 3 games were a different story all together, and let's face it, when isn't it...ya know? So here's what happened.

Heavy Mettle - With 399 points, RatzPack wins Bowl Games : Heavy Mettle. Her 72 points in the final 3 games was enough to defeat Swearengine by 17 points. If Florida hadn't won, Swearengine would have won by 4 points.

Win/Loss - It came down to the BCS Championship Tiebreaker. Please note : Heavy Mettle does NOT factor into the tiebreaker. With a record of 21-13, it came down to Swearengine, Gawaga, and RatzPack.

The Final Score was 24-14 Florida.

Swearengine wound up +17
Gawaga wound up +14
...and, the winner, by BCS TIEBREAKER, RatzPack, who finished with a tiebreaker score of +12.

So, all in all, RatzPack swept Bowl Games, but only by 2 tiebreaker points, and by 17 points (Heavy Mettle). It went down to the wire in both games, as the final game eventually decided both Championship. There were a ton of variables if Oklahoma had won, including the addition of ScottyT, and LLG to the tiebreaker score (which would have ultimately gone to RatzPack either way if the score had stayed the same), and it would have left Swearengine as the Heavy Mettle Champion.

I don't think that last paragraph constitutes a "consolation" prize, but nonetheless, that's how close it woulda been.

Congratulations to RatzPack on her Bowl Games VIII Championship Sweep, and Congratulations on the back-to-back Bowl Games Championships.

Season EHght Wrap Up

Mrs. JiM has already started up Postseason IV. If you want to get in on it, it's a quick 11-game run through the playoffs. This season, Mrs. JiM has added "Favorites" Divisions (if you select an NFC East team as your favorite team, you'll be placed in the NFC East Division if there's enough people). Also, there's a special bonus to Postseason IV, that I'll get to a little later in this Season EHght Wrap Up. So go ahead and check out the Postseason IV links (to the left, in the menu) when you get a chance, and for now, we continue on with the Wrap Up.

-----

Bowl Games VIII is still going, and has been updated as of the 12/29 games. We're 14 games in, and the links can be found to the left (same menu as Postseason IV links). Continue on with the read. Whoot.

-----

Week 17 Winner - I didn't expect Week 17 to be as good as it was. If Week 16 and Week 17 flipped, it would have made more sense. In any event, there was a 5-way tiebreaker (at 14-2) between Kmann, RONNIE, Slim Shady, ORMSBYLARGO, and Angry Gorilla (in order of who picked first). After the Chargers ravaging of the Broncos became official, so did the Week 17 Winner, that person being Kmann. This is Kmann's 3rd week won of all time, and finishes up his own season with a bang. Congratulations, Kmann!

Weekly Winners Winner - Also, known as "The Triple W", by absolutely nobody except me, The Weekly Winners Winner is determined after Week 17 (duh). After scoring back to back wins in Weeks 1 and 2, Angry Amish held the Winnership until Week 12, when Paducah Cowboy won his second week, and wound up with a better winning percentage for weeks won. After 5 more weeks, no one was able to challenge Cowboy, and with that, the Season EHght Weekly Winners Champion is Paducah Cowboy. Congratulations to Mr. Cowboy on a combined 27-4 during your 2 week winning streak.

WDG Champion - Week 12 was the beginning of a 2 week showdown between Dacrud and RONNIE for the WDG Championship. After both picked DEN and lost, it was determined that a Week 13 "Overtime" Week was necessary to crown a champion. Dacrud fell again by choosing Buffalo, and in the end, RONNIE, thanks to Baltimore, walked out of the fake arena that people figuratively walk out of, as WDG III Champion. Oddly enough, Dacrud and RONNIE were both tied for 2nd all-time (with J-Pod) for most WDG Weeks won. WDG III broke 2 ties between these guys...that rhymed. HAR HAR. Congratulations RONNIE on your WDG Championship.

Mystery BEEF : Roulette of Deathchance - After some weird 3-way matchups, and tie games that allowed people to continue on, the finals of MYSTERY BEEF occurred on Week 10 between The D and Big A. This was almost a David and Goliath matchup as The D maintained a firm stance in the Top 5 for most of the season, while Big A roamed between the 20-30s range. In this little tale however, Goliath won, as The D became the Mystery BEEF Champion. Congratulations D...more titles for you if you scroll down.

Fantasy Football - We ran both V.2 and V.3 of GTSR 14-Team Keeper League this season, and to wrap this part up somewhat quickly, the new GTSR Fantasy Football Champions are :

V.2 - Don Valley Dukes, managed by Mansfield Mudflaps, blew out ocb12's Team Berthold in the finals 108-64. This is Mansfield Mudflaps' first GTSR FFL Championship. Congrats, d00d. I blame the DEAFENING LOSS on the lack of a cool team name on ocb12's part. I did warn him of such possibilities in the preseason. To each their own.

V.3 - The Brandishers of Weaponry, managed by JiM (also the dude typing this out), defeated The WolfHounds (DrSpackle) by a GROSSLY TITANIC score of 98-96. This was JiM's second GTSR FFL Championship, which resulted in the CRUSHING CRUSHITUDE of an iron-fisted tyrannical reign of The WolfHounds and their Spackle-ran Evil Empire of Fantasy Football Evil. JiM is a Fantasy Football Savior, Savioring us all from the scourge of the Fantasy Underworld.....Football Hades if you will...DrSpackle's WolfHounds. THANK YOU THANK YOU. Now it's time to go hang up my perpetually horizontal cape and continue on with this wrap up.

-----

Leaderboard - So, interesting story Sunday. You see, The D is heading into the Sunday Nighter just 1 game ahead of The OC and G Money Action. I'm like "ok cool, it'll be a tight race, but it'll be done"....OH NO IT DINT. The D picked Denver. D00000000000000000D. I swear to whoever is reading this, by the time I found out about the ramifications of such chicanery, I was cheering for the damn Broncos to win. All in all, the Chargers slaughtered the crap out of the Broncos, and we end up in a 3-way tie for the LEADERBOARD CHAMPIONSHIP IN CAPS LOCK.

Now if anyone is still reading, this is where Postseason IV's "special bonus" that I mentioned before, comes into play. To determine the winner of GTSR Season EHght, we're gonna have ourselves some OVERTIME, care of Mrs. JiM and Postseason IV. Basically, The D, The OC, and G Money Action will enter Postseason IV, and after those 11 games, and perhaps the Super Bowl Tiebreaker Score, we'll have ourselves a winner. EVERYONE can play Postseason IV, but for these 3 d00ds, it's for all the marbles of Season EHght.

Which leads me to one more point....J-Pod...you poor poor bastard. You're the only remaining active member of a previous season that ended in a tie (Season II), and since then, you've managed to place 2nd in Season III, T-6th in The Wrath of Khan, 2nd in Divide and Conquer (with 190 wins no less), T-36th in Season of the Beast (ok, everyone has an off year), T-2nd in The Wrath of Khan II : Wrath Harder - Championship Edition, and then you wind up in 4th place (by record, second) this season. Dude. Just...just...dude. I want you to win, bro, I really do. All by yourself and everything. Poor guy.

Must continue on!

California 4 - Regardless of a valiant effort by Nails, at the end of the day, the California 4 Title belongs to PicksBoss. Nails had it down to 2 games behind, but couldn't make up anymore ground, and when time ran out, that was it, game set PicksBoss. Joseph Futrell and CalCityGreg finished in a tie for third place, 5 games behind. How cool...I get to "hear" PicksBoss' gloat a lot. Hooray. This is PicksBoss' second California Championship.

Ontario - There is no tie in this, just a hard fought victory. G Money Action maintained a single game lead over J-Pod to clinch the Ontario Championship. Mansfield Mudflaps finished in 3rd place, but fell back to 8 games and was unable to recover from the deficit. GMA wrapped up this division prior to the Sunday Nighter, but it was yet another stellar performance by J-Pod. Never the bride, bro. Never the bride. Congrats GMA on yet another division championship. This is GMA's second division championship overall.

Lone Star - Yet another division where the gap closed in, but could not be overcome. Kimberly is the winner of the Lone Star Division, by just 1 game over No Talent Ass Clowns. The division races got tighter near the end, but when it's all said and done, Kimberly prevails and is now the owner of Texas. This is Kimberly's first division championship, and her first state ownership!

Yorkies vs. Massholes - New York vs. Massachusetts. A division built solely on a four thousand year old baseball rivalry between the Yankees and The Red Sox. A division made up of only New Yorkers and Massholes. At least that's what they told me they were. Without too much damage done to his already sizable lead, Themeaningoflifeisnot walked in and out of Week 17 as the Yorkies vs. Massholes Division Champion, taking his title home to the state of New York. New York finishes 1-2 in this division. Congrats TMOL...you FOCKIN' ROT WHY LAH! This is TMOL's third division championship.

Rust Belt - The 3 game lead was destroyed early, but ocb12 managed the best he could, and wound up winning the Rust Belt by just 1 game over a surging RONNIE and his Week 17 14-2 record. OCB12 came away somewhat scathed (as opposed to unscathed) as RONNIE was there the entire time, but couldn't close the gap enough to force a Week by Week Tiebreaker. Congrats OCB. Now change your fantasy football team name. Sheesh. This is ocb12's second division championship.

Mid 2 The West - Wrapped up right quick. Finished with an 8 game lead. The D takes home the Mid 2 The West Division Championship, with Jon finishing in second place. Not too much to write up about this one, this division belonged to The D. This is The D's third division championship, and in short time, I'll announce his fourth. Urg.

Scattered East - The 6 game lead going into Week 17 was never dented. Paducah Cowboy remained in second place, slowly realizing that a Week 17 OC MARKET COLLAPSE was not in store. The OC kept his 6-game lead, and is the winner of the Scattered East. For his fake prize, The OC receives North Carolina and Maine, and a chance to win the Leaderboard Championship in Postseason IV. This is The OC's first division championship.

Lone Reps - Most of the divisions saw a lead dwindle, but in this division's case, the lead expanded to a comfortable and acceptable amount. Crowmeal was in cruise control in Week 17, and expanded his 1 game lead into 3 games, and well...obviously enough, wins the Lone Reps Division Championship. This is Crow's first division championship.

-----
NOTE : Promotion/Relegation amongst the "Wins" Divisions will be determined in the offseason, but should be pretty easy to figure out all in all. It'll give me something to do with the many months of down time. Ok, keep going...
-----

Paramount - Poor J-Pod. Him and GMA wound up being in all the same divisions together. Which, means I have to announce that G Money Action is the Paramount Division Champion. I mean, I don't mind announcing it, but I don't want J-Pod to become a sad goth face and huddle in a little e-corner rocking himself to sleep about how he's "just 1 game behind, just 1 game behind" over and over again. :( On a lighter side, G Money Action is pretty decent at winning divisions, as this is his third division championship in just 2 active years of GTSR Combat.

Upper Midway - RONNIE set up a "late inning" scare, but in the end, The D held on to become the Upper Midway Champion. The D's lead went down to 3 games but RONNIE would have to pull off some magicianery to win it all, and in the end, magicianery allegedly doesn't exist, at least not in GTSR. The D wins Upper Midway, and now has 4 division championships. Selfish.

Lower Midway - The OC put an exclamation mark on it. Or something. What was a 3 game lead going in, became a 5 game lead going out, and The OC was crowned the Lower Midway Champion. CROWNED. Dennis Green CROWNED! WE HAD THEM WHERE WE HAD THEM. ARAR.ARAR.ARGAGARG! What? This is The OC's second division championship since I started with the location divisions. :-/

Bedrock - Not a whole helluva lot happened in this one. Riley B. retained his late season dominance of the Bedrock Division, and is now the champion of the Bedrock. BARNEY F'N RUBBLE. "FRED F'N FLINTSTONE" didn't look as good written out. Riley B. has added the Bedrock Division Championship to his mantle of Championships which also includes a Lone Reps Division Championship from a couple years ago, and perhaps some other stuff I'm not going to check for. Congrats Riley.

Greenhorn - You decide to have a 13-3 now? Geez. Orangeman finishes strong and becomes the Greenhorn Division Champion, and now that the season is over, he'll never have a chance at this championship again, because he is no longer new. You're now old, and must face the heat against the other oldies around here. That's what you get when you win...the full brunt of everyone else wanting to smash you. So good luck with that, and congratulations on your Greenhorn Championship. Miss Alana-Rose is a happy baby, and will most assuredly clap for you, in a good show of sportsmanship. Internally however...loaded diaper with your name on it. Also, if/when you come back next season, use the "Man of Oranges" moniker. It sounds superhero-ish.

Most Improved Player - 28 people either finished with the same amount of wins they had last season, or more. I say "wins" because the damn tie game kinda hoses the "record" part of it. As it is, I only went by wins anyhow. Due to an awesome 13-3 finish, The OC is the Most Improved Player for Season EHght. I really don't know if this adds or detracts from the stigma of winning the other championships, but hey...YOU'VE IMPROVED ENOUGH TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR IT. So you have that going for you. Rock'n'Roll.

.500 - Mansfield Mudflaps owns this. Flat out. He'll take his 42 week streak in whatever the hell I'm calling Season Nine. Nails, Crowmeal, and TMOL will take their 30 week streaks into "Season Nine" as well. The next highest streak is at 24 weeks by enough people to warrant me not typing it out. Not enough streaks were lost to sweat being mentioned, but you know who you are.

Wins Watches - No changes. What you see is what will be carried over into Season 9. TMOL has a chance for 1000 in Week 1, while Matuch has the best chance of 500 in Week 1.

GTSR Season EHght wraps up with all championships except the Leaderboard Championship figured out. By February 1st, we will have a Season EHght Champion. The D? The OC? G Money Action? No idea. I'll find out right along side you. And, with that being said, GTSR Postseason IV begins. Deadline is 1/3/09 @ 4:30pm EASTERN.

Thank you for playing.
