| GTSR EHght Begins Nao! |
GTSR EHght is now online, and ready to rummmmmmmblllllllllle. I, naturally, am not done with all the updates, but the ones that are ultimately necessary for this season (to the left, under the NAVIGATION section) are ready, and ready to
Added some new smilies. Didn't drastically change anything. Not too bad so far, I hope.
As you can see on some pages better than others, a version of the Canadian Maple Leaf is GTSR's background this season. This will be a new tradition, as the winner from the previous season will have their location represented in some form on the current season's pages. So if you're from Wisconsin, either your state flag, or a block of cheese, or Brett Fa....nevermind. You get the idea.
The GTSRchives have NOT been updated yet, but that's it. The rest of it is ready to go.
So, if you're going to play GTSR EHght this season, the Week 1 signup form is in bold text, on the left.
The Reigning Champions going into GTSR EHght are as follows :
Leaderboard - Mansfield Mudflaps Wins Divisions - J-Pod, ORMSBYLARGO, Mansfield Mudflaps, Juice, Thorpe Newbie Division - G Money Action Location Divisions - John B., Mansfield Mudflaps, Dacrud, Jon, Martijn, ocb12, RatzPack, ORMSBYLARGO Weekly Winners - Pubs Jr. WDG - RatzPack Bowl Games - RatzPack Postseason - The OC GTSRch Madness III - Kimberly Fantasy Football - TMOL (Queen City Voodoo Kings), LLG (My Sassy Girls)

| GTSR Season 7 Wrap Up |
Well, that's it folks. The Regular Season is over, which means, Postseason is right around the block, and for the third year, Mrs. JiM is running GTSR POSTSEASON 3, which you can find at the link I just posted (the text in bold that says GTSR POSTSEASON 3). Deadline is January 5th, at 4:30 pm Eastern.
Now, let's get the ball rolling and hand out some championships! Whoot!
Week 17 Winnership - Mansfield Mudflaps (14-2) steamrolled the competition (no one with 13 wins) to win his second week of the season. Mudflaps had the lead early, and never let go, and now has his second weekly win of the season...which means we go to a TIEBREAKER for the...
Weekly Winners Winnership - Mansfield Mudflaps vs. Pubs Jr. The tiebreaker is easy. Take the weekly win records, combine them, figure out the win %, best one wins. Mudflaps scored a 23-7 for his 2 weeks won, while Pubs scored a 27-5 for his 2 weeks, and therefore, by a win % margin of .077, Pubs Jr is the new Weekly Winners Champion.
Congrats to Mansfield Mudflaps on his second weekly win of the season, and to Pubs Jr. for becoming the Weekly Winners Champion.
Here's what it gets chippy, folks.
LEADERBOARD
Going into Week 17, we had a 3-way tie between Pubs Jr., J-Pod, and Juice, with Mansfield Mudflaps, ORMSBYLARGO, and Swearengine trailing by 2. Swearengine missed his picks, took an 0-16, and was out early.
After the first 9 games, J-Pod had 170 wins, with Pubs Jr / Juice trailing behind at 169, Mansfield at 168, and ORMS at 167. After 11 games, J-Pod goes up to 171, Pubs Jr / Juice at 170, with Mansfield up to 170 now, and ORMS at 168. After 15 games, ORMS hits 171, and is out of contention for the championship. Pubs Jr gets no help and only adds 1 more win, and finishes at 171, tied for 5th with ORMS, John B., G Money Action, Matuch, and Dacrud.
J-Pod and Juice hit 173 after 15 games, but Mansfield Mudflaps was starting to feel the power of Hulka-Freaking-Mania, and scored a perfect afternoon record, and leapfrogging both J-Pod and Juice by 1 game, with 1 game left. Hulka-Freaking-Mania legdropped, never leapfrogged, but you get the point. FINAL GAME :
Tennessee vs. Indianapolis
Juice - Tennessee - 174 wins
J-Pod - Tennessee - 174 wins
Mansfield Mudflaps - Tennessee - 175 WINS AND YOUR NEW GTSR CHAMPION, coming from 4th place, 2 games back to win it all, with an amazing 14-2 Week 17 record. J-Pod and Juice tie for second place, and this is J-Pod's third second place finish since 2003.
Congratulations to Mansfield Mudflaps, who's official victory came via the original Sunday Night game of the Chiefs / Jets, which was, via my paperwork, the second to last game on the record for Week 17. A very very tight race, came down to the wire between a horde of Canadians, and it ends with a victory by Mansfield Mudflaps. Booyah.
We've got more ground to cover, folks. How about some division madness?!? YAAAAAY! *throws trash can*
California Division 3 : Rise of the Machines - After 11 games, PicksBoss had tied John B. for the division championship. After 15 games, it was still tied. PicksBoss and John B. ran this one down to the wire. Then it happened. The Tennessee Titans won. In the merry land of GTSR, that translates into a 1 game victory for John B., who clinched his 1st ever division championship in the final game of the season. John B. quit changing his mind all the time, and for his efforts, won the division in which he lives. Good job, John. Now maybe you'll say hi to me at work now.
Mum's Great White North - Crazy ending on so many levels. 7 out of the Leaderboard's Top 10 come from this division alone, but after it was all said and done, much like the Overall Championship, Mansfield Mudflaps becomes the new Mum's Great White North Champion, after defeating, J-Pod and Juice by 1, Thorpe by 3, and Pubs Jr. (amongst a group of 5) by 4. Mudflaps racked it up in the final week of the season. Hell of a good ending.
Lone Star - What a difference a Week 17 makes. Dan goes into the final week with a 1 game lead, and walks out tied for second place, 4 games back of the new Lone Star Champion, DACRUD, whose 12-4 (and Dan's 7-9) gave no room for error. Gawaga ties Dan for second place, scoring an 11-5 week himself. Congrats to Dacrud, who now owns the entire state of Texas...or something.
Great Lakes : The Return - ORMSBYLARGO held firm, and expanded her lead from 2 games to 3, to become the new Great Lakes Champion. She held firm in the end when it counted, and no one caught up to her, as a 10-6 record was enough to win without question.
Mid 2 The West - Recockulous went into Week 17 with a 1 game lead over Jon, and the one thing he didn't need was an 8-8 record. Which he got. In return, second place Jon, became first place Jon, and held off Recockulous, and a third place Crowmeal, to become the new Mid 2 The West Champion. This was another division victory that was clinched via the Chiefs / Jets game.
New England - Angelico Breaker did the best he could. Down by 3 games to Martijn, A-Breaker was only able to catch up by 1 game (with a solid 11-5), which cemented his second place status at 168 wins. The first ever New England Champion, returning to a Championship status after a hiatus at the top last year, is Martijn, scoring yet another division title to add to his fake e-division title cabinet.
Atlantic - This was the tightest race of the season. It's the only division that came down to a tiebreaker. It's Mrs. LLG vs. OCB12 after both amass a record of 170-86. Tiebreaker for a situation such as this is a Week by Week Head's up, so here we go :
Week 1 - OCB (leading 1-0) Week 2 - OCB (2-0) Week 3 - MRS (2-1 OCB) Week 4 - OCB (3-1) Week 5 - OCB (4-1) Week 6 - MRS (4-2 OCB) Week 7 - OCB (5-2) Week 8 - TIE Week 9 - TIE Week 10 - OCB (6-2) Week 11 - MRS (6-3 OCB) Week 12 - OCB (7-3) Week 13 - MRS (7-4 OCB) Week 14 - MRS (7-5 OCB) Week 15 - TIE (7-5 OCB) Week 16 - MRS (7-6 OCB) Week 17 - OCB (8-6) OCB12 WINS Atlantic Division via tiebreaker victory (8-6-3) over Mrs. LLG. Congratulations OCB on yet another championship (he's also won Bowl Games 4, and Weekly Winnership 2004).
Southeast - Swearengine went into Week 17 with a 2 game lead over RatzPack and JWGator. However, he didn't make Week 17 picks, and was basically eliminated from championship contention from the get go. RatzPack held off JWGator in Week 17 to win the Southeast Division Championship by 2 games. This is Ratz's second championship of the season, as early on, she secured the WDG Championship as well.
RED - This one was all J-Pod as his 11-5 helped secure a 3 game RED Division Championship over Matuch, who was only able to catch up by 1 game. This is J-Pod's 3rd Division Championship all time.
ORANGE - The records may have changed, but the Top 3 didn't. Gawaga finishes in third with 167 wins, and Jon finishes second with his 169, which means, ORMSBYLARGO has won her second Division Championship of 2007 with 171 wins.
YELLOW - Pubs Jr. is feeling it in every which way. Leaderboard, Great White North, and now the Yellow Division. Mansfield Mudflaps with his 175 wins, won the Yellow Division Championship, and thus completes his sweep of the 'ol "I'm the guy with the best record, therefore I typically win all the divisions I'm in" deal.
BLUE - After jumping up to the lead in the Blue Division late in the season, Juice never lets go of it again, and wins the Blue Division by 3 games over John B. John B. held his ground, but was not able to overcome an 11-5 Week 17 by Juice.
GREEN - After battling back and forth throughout the past few weeks, Thorpe manages to hang on by 1 game over Dacrud to win the Green Division Championship, with a win total of 172, good for 4th on the leaderboard.
FRESHMEN - The Danimal's 7-9 Week 17 didn't help him much. As a matter of fact, it didn't help at all. He wound up with 167 wins, good for a tie for second place. But that's second place. Second place that's 4 games back of the new Freshmen Division Champion, G MONEY ACTION. Another Canadian. Geez.
DIVISION CHAMPIONS RECAP
California - John B. by 1 game. Mum's GWN - Mansfield Mudflaps by 1 game. Lone Star - Dacrud by 4 games. Great Lakes - ORMSBYLARGO by 3 games. Mid to the West - Jon by 1 game. New England - Martijn by 2 games. Atlantic - ocb12 by Tiebreaker over Mrs. LLG Southeast - RatzPack by 2 games. RED - J-Pod by 3 games. ORANGE - ORMSBYLARGO by 2 games. YELLOW - Mansfield Mudflaps by 4 games. BLUE - Juice by 3 games. GREEN - Thorpe by 1 game. FRESHMEN - G Money Action by 4 games.
WEEKLY WINNERS RECAP - Look to the right and up a bit, they're all there.
BEEF - In the final week of the season, there were still 5 matchups left to be decided. Ape Boy defeated October Raven, JiM defeated Mrs. JiM, Mrs. JiM defeated WAGARA, JiM defeated Ape Boy, and Dacrud defeats Dan to wrap up the season-in-BEEF. Matuch, TinyPP, Gawaga, and Mansfield Mudflaps have the best win % with a 765, and well, I went 5-1 in my BEEF matchups, so I'm happy with it.
WDG - RatzPack is still the WDG Champion. Durrr. She's been the reigning WDG Champ for many weeks now.
.500 STREAK - Bad day for a streak to stay alive. 20 streaks ended today, including the following : Nick Paglia (26), El Mesa Loco (21), SpudHead (16), and Dan (16).
Gawaga and Headscan remained active at 27 weeks, currently the highest active streak going into next season, which is good for 10th place all time.
WINS WATCHES - Space Dude has been added to the 500 wins watch and is currently 96 away. No Talent Ass Clowns is the closest to 500 with only 4 more to go, while on the 1000 front, Kevin Holtsberry is only 25 away.
MOST IMPROVED PLAYER - Dacrud is the Most Improved Player of GTSR after having a 34 game improvement over last year's record. Thorpe came in second place with 30.
FFL 14-TEAM - Themeaningoflifeisnot racked up his 2nd out of 3 14-Team Championships with his #1 seeded Queen City VooDoo Kings, defeating JiM's #2 seeded Death Valley Dreadnoughts in the finals by a blowout score of 90-27. Out of the 3 years 14-Team has been ran (including the one year as 16-team), the first Championship was won by JiM, while TMOL has won the last 2 back-to-back. Congratulations to TMOL on another year of domination. Can't go wrong having Randy Moss, TO, and LT on your team. Whoot.
FFL 12-TEAM - LLG overcame huge odds as his #6 seeded My Sassy Girls went into the finals to face off against Ape Boy's #4 seeded (and 2nd highest scoring team overall) Hogan's Heroes. To get to the finals, Sassy Girls had to defeat Doug Moyer's #3 seeded He (still) Hate Me, and JiM's #2 seeded Brandishers of Weaponry, while Ape had to carve a path through Mansfield Mudflaps #5 seeded Riverdale Rhinos, and Toronto's Tontos #1 seeded McLean's Bay Maulers. In the end, My Sassy Girls, from the 6 seed defeated Hogan's Heroes 125-86 to win the 12-Team Championship for LLG. LLG's Girls become only the second GTSR FFL Team ever to win the Championship from the #6 seed.
If anyone wishes to get on the waiting list for FFL for 2008, let me know ASAP so I can put you on the top of the list.
Hall of Champions - As you may or may not have seen, I'm currently working on a Hall of Champions page, which will have a list of all the champions of all time in GTSR. Leaderboard, Bowl Games, WDG, Postseason, and Weekly Winners are currently on the page. Divisions will get it's own page, and I'll figure out what to do with everything else during the offseason. But for now, there is a Hall of Champions page up. Has not been updated for this season yet.
Offseason - I'll be keeping the site a little more active than normal during the offseason, as I change things around, contemplate what new games to add, or games to remove, and other stuff. It'll be out there a little more, more known so everybody can see it before it gets sprung on them at the last second. This includes a complete rebuild of the FAQ page, perhaps even a detailed informative one for a change. Imagine that. So if you wanna keep up on stuff, make sure you check out the site every now and then, cuz I might actually post things from time to time. Yay!
But for now, that seems to be a wrap. Bowl Games continues on, as we've completed 15 of 32 games there, and Mrs. JiM is now running POSTSEASON 3 as mentioned before, so get on that bus while you get the chance, and try to dethrone Jessica for the Championship. :)
That is all for now. Happy New Year everybody. Have a happy everyday.
